Baseball card bought for $100 tipped to fetch over $100K at auction
1/10/2013Poor suckers in rural Maine who held a yard sale let go of some oak chairs, some old Coca-Cola bottles and a photo album for less than $100. The album happened to contain an extremely rare baseball card, a photo of the Brooklyn Atlantics amateur club dated 1865. Said to be one of only two in existence, the card is expected to attract bids of over $100,000 at auction next month, ample recompense for the indignity of spending your Sunday rooting around people's unwanted belongings.
