Viral waterspout footage shows Mother Nature humbling us all

11/19/2012

The Australian skies have been delivering more of Mother Nature's wrath today, or as tweep #septemous put it, further news "In the 'We are so F'kd' department." A YouTube user managed to capture incredible footage of this furious waterspout ripping a storm off the coast of Batemans Bay in New South Wales. The tornado-like columnar vortex, which is filled with condensation droplets that make it look like a massive tower of water sent droves of awestruck Aussies outside with their storm-battered cameras in tow. The spout didn't cause any known damage, but forecasters say it's just the beginning of treacherous weather in the region. Translation: If you're planning a trip to New South Wales, pack your rain boots. [Source]
