Beer company crafts brew just for a game that ruins beer
2/24/2012Finally, you can save those highfalutin microbrews for more upscale occasions: Pong Beer USA has created a namesake brew specifically for playing the ubiquitous drinking game that involves throwing dirty table tennis balls into cups of beer. According to Time, the light beer (hey, even frat boys watch their figures) is available in a 30-can "Rack Pack" with two free balls; the more functional "Reload" package throws in 16-oz. cups. The company website indicates that the beverage is only available in a handful of states but notes that its signature product will soon make its debut in at least 10 others.
However, not everyone's convinced this pong-specific promotion will spell suds success. @Notteham comments, "Trying to be open-minded, but the #beer we used for #beerpong was always fairly awful."
