Guard gets 2 years in jail for not stopping Swedish teddy-bear blitz
2/19/2013A Belarusian border guard who failed to sound the alarm during a Swedish teddy bear bombing was sentenced to two years in prison Monday. A Swedish plane piloted by activists flew into Belarusian airspace over the summer and dropped hundreds of teddies bearing pro-democracy messages over Minsk. Belarus is Europe's last remaining dictatorship, and the incident embarrassed autocrat Alexander Lukashenko, who was furious that his nation's security could be breached by a payload of stuffed animals. What a grumpy guy. He needs to take a nap with his teddy. And to let someone else have a turn at running the country. [Source]
