Bedtime is a bear for man fostering 27 cubs that won't hibernate

2/2/2013

Ben Kilham just wants his 27 orphaned bears to go the f**k to sleep already. The New Hampshire man is that state’s only bear rehabilitator. For the past 20 years, he’s averaged 3-5 orphaned cubs each winter, which hibernate at an enclosure near his house. But this year, due to a high number of sows being shot scavenging for food, a record 27 cubs are running roughshod over his property. His food bills, usually low because the cubs hibernate, are astronomical this year, likely to cost him about $1,000 per cub to get them through June. Needless to say, Kilham would be most grateful if you could help bear the cost for caring for the cubs. [Source]
