Penn State ice cream ruined by cold-hearted prankster

9/17/2012

Penn State’s historic Berkey Creamery isn’t just a signature campus stop for cool treats — it’s the nation’s largest university creamery. But in yet another blow to the school’s morale all Berkey’s ice cream and frozen yogurt made between May 16 and Aug. 11 has been recalled. “Small foreign objects,” including a penny, were found in half gallons of the ice cream, an unsettling prank in a community already rocked by the sex abuse scandal and severe NCAA penalties. Disturbingly, the small objects don’t appear to have been inserted where the ice cream was manufactured, but were believed to have been inserted by someone deliberately trying to sabotage another of Penn State’s simple joys. [Source]
