2/18/2013But take our word for it: All that great new technology at your fingertips is making it more likely you'll stay at home than venture out into big, bad reality for a movie or a ballgame or even to reconnect with a friend. What started as Cold War anxiety is now being called "super-cocooning" by researchers noting the huge bump in spending on electronics and the decrease in travel and eating out. High-definition TVs, cellphones with their own personalities and the wonders of the Web are a big part of it, but so is general unease.
