This plate of unappetizing pasta will cost you more than $2,000

Pasta. It’s a peasant’s dish. You boil some noodles, add some sauce and toss in whatever else you have lying around. The whole idea is that it’s quick and frugal. Unless you are Bice, an Italian restaurant in midtown Manhattan, which is celebrating 25 years in business by unveiling a dish that costs more than your monthly mortgage payment — a $2,013 order of pasta served on a gold plate designed by Gianni Versace. The plate is valued at $350, which means one-percenters who order the dish are paying more than $1,600 for “fresh ingredients” of “mixed wild mushrooms,” two pounds of lobster and “shaved seasonal black truffles.” [Source]
