Kids in British schools under video surveillance in the bathroom
9/12/2012This belongs in the "are you serious?" file. A group called Big Brother Watch has revealed that more than 200 U.K. schools have installed surveillance cameras in their bathrooms or locker rooms; the schools claim the cameras are being used to help protect children. Principals say the cameras help identify cases of bullying and bad behavior among pupils and are not placed inside the bathroom stalls. Unsurprisingly, human rights campaigners are not impressed. Big Brother Watch director Nick Pickles said, "Schools need to come clean about why they are using these cameras and what is happening to the footage." [Source]
