Science blogger calls out viral 'Bigfoot DNA' claim as bogus

11/28/2012

After reports claiming Melba Ketchum had sequenced Bigfoot DNA went viral, a blogger called out his fellow "scientist," claiming Ketchum's research is bogus and only meant to support a documentary she's making to sucker Bigfoot believers. In a blog Tuesday, Houston Chronicle writer Eric Berger points to myriad issues with Ketchum's DNA claim, including the fact that she announced it prior to peer review and based her work on evidence from a "longtime Bigfoot habituator" in rural Michigan. Her F-rated company has over two dozen complaints with the Better Business Bureau, he adds. Sorry guys, it may be back to grainy photos and booby-traps. [Source]
