12/9/2012Disapproving tweets are flying at the Catholic Church today over an elderly priest who can no longer wear his beloved robe and collar because he celebrated Mass with — gasp — a woman. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has stripped 92-year-old Rev. Father Bill Brennan of his priestly duties for performing a liturgy at an annual protest in Georgia where Rev. Janice Sevre-Duszynska was a participant. (The Catholic Church prohibits women from being ordained, noting Jesus chose only men as his apostles.) Although friends have objected, Brennan says he understood the risks when he performed the liturgy.
