Bill Clinton warns Democrats to have more respect for gun culture

1/20/2013

With gun control on everyone's minds lately, former president Bill Clinton has an important message for Democrats: Don't trivialize gun culture. "Do not patronize the passionate supporters of your opponents by looking down your nose at them," Clinton said. "A lot of these people live in a world very different from the world lived in by the people proposing these [gun control laws]. ... I know because I come from this world," added the former Arkansas governor. Although it seems like common sense, with all the political infighting in Washington these days, it's not a bad idea to remind ourselves that political opponents are just people with a different view, not idiots.
