AP can't fact-check Clinton's speech without a Lewinsky mention
9/6/2012Somebody's fact-checking needs a relevance check. Even the folks at FactCheck.org found that former president Bill Clinton's rousing speech at the Democratic National Convention "checked out," despite his tsunami of claims and statistics. Ah, but not so fast, says the Associated Press. Not only did the news service's fault-finder dart Clinton for poking fun at the Republicans' loose interpretations of what's factual, it decided to take a gratuitous shot at his 14-years-ago escapade with Monica Lewinsky. Because, you know, it's all about fact-checking. Hey, thanks for keeping the conversation current, fellas. Now, can we talk about WMDs — weapons of mass disinformation? [Source]
