That's the message that political smartmouth and famed hater of religion Bill Maher has for Catholics in a "New Rules" clip going viral following the pope's resignation. Maher's sarcastic encouragement for lay Catholics to give up the cause, along with his faux-nomination of Hillary Clinton as a papal replacement, has gotten laughs but also drawn plenty of outrage. Many viewers are calling Maher an idiot and condemning the segment — "Bill Maher like all Libs saves his biggest venom for his real enemy, Jesus Freaks. BM calls us Jesus Freaks because we are real threat," wrote one.
