Bill O'Reilly half-heartedly apologizes for being 'an idiot'
7/4/2012Bill O'Reilly has apologized, but that doesn't mean he's actually sorry. Under pressure from media watchers, the Fox News host made good on a March promise to American Constitution Society president Caroline Fredrickson to apologize on the air "for being an idiot" if the Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act, as she predicted. On Monday, days after the court's decision came down — when the news cycle had more or less moved on — he offered Fredrickson this halfhearted acknowledgment: "I'm not really sorry, but I am a man of my word, so I apologize for not factoring in the John Roberts situation," O'Reilly said. "I may be an idiot for not considering that."
