Champion wing eater indicted for performance de-enhancing cocaine
2/2/2013Bill "El Wingador" Simmons, five-time winner of Philadelphia's "Wing Bowl" chicken wing eating contest, has been indicted on cocaine charges. El Wingador was arrested in June when police recovered $8,000 worth of appetite-suppressing cocaine and $4,000 in cash, suggesting that competitive wing eating is far more lucrative than anyone could have imagined. Simmons' last Wing Bowl victory was in 2005 after gobbling 162 chicken wings, a far cry from this year's winner who inhaled 287 wings in 30 minutes of messy, joyless eating. [Source]
