The Black Keys are howling over casino's alleged rip-off of their song
1/25/2013The Black Keys might be excited about the five Grammys they're up for next week, but they're decidedly less enthusiastic about their work, Grammy-nominated or not, being used in the service of a Louisiana casino. Bands often see their music changed in ads just enough to avoid lawsuits, but the Black Keys say that L'Auberge Casino used a track "substantially similar" to their single "Howlin' for You." This isn't the first trip to the courthouse for the band, which last year settled infringement lawsuits against Pizza Hut and Home Depot for using two tracks off the Grammy-winning "El Camino" in promotions.
