Replacing soda with tea could be the unpalatable key to good health

11/9/2012

Sadly, it seems the beverage most likely to reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes is not beer. It's tea — icky old black tea. Newly published research on the British Medical Journal website compared health statistics against sales of tea and found an inverse link between the two — the more tea people in the 50 countries involved in the study swilled, the lower their citizens' chance of contracting type 2 diabetes. Consumption of the tea (which goes from green to black in the process of fermentation) was also linked to lower rates of respiratory, cardiovascular and infectious diseases, as well as cancer. Stupid, boring, life-giving tea. [Source]
