Blago spends last moments of freedom inspecting cages
3/14/2012You'd think seeing animals behind bars would be the last thing Rod Blagojevich would want to do right before starting a 14-year prison sentence, but the former Illinois governor spent his final hours of freedom with his family at Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo. Blago, whose workday in the clink will begin at 6:30 a.m. when he reports for duty at the Federal Correctional Institution on Thursday, spent a more leisurely afternoon Tuesday checking out the ape house, among other beastly pit-stops. @dstriddy thinks the disgraced politician could have picked a better penultimate outing with his two young daughters: "Should have taken em to Capitol Hill to see the real animals."
