Blogger shows how he easily tricked TSA scanners

3/8/2012

Blogger Jon Corbett, who describes himself as a "scientist, engineer and frequent traveler," claims that using a "dollar store sewing kit" to stitch an internal pocket into his shirt was all it took to sneak "a random metallic object" through the scanners at two US airports. Corbett insists that he made the above video to show why the scanners are ineffective, not to help terrorists. He has raised some eyebrows, and, unsurprisingly, has also attracted criticism. "It's not a valid test," one airport spokesman told The Guardian. "To say this [...] undermines airport security technology is totally wrong."
