It's Blue Monday, but don't get too depressed — it's probably a crock

1/21/2013

You have official permission to feel gloomy today. According to psychologist Cliff Arnall, it's Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year. Arnall uses a complex formula that factors in everything from the weather to due dates for those Christmas bills to abandoned New Year's resolutions, mathematically bestowing the dreary honor on the third Monday of January. Sounds legit, but don't crawl back under the covers yet. Critics mock Blue Monday as quackery, dismissing Arnall's dubious credentials and pointing out that the whole crazy concept was conceived as a PR stunt for a travel company hell-bent on selling sunny holiday packages. So throw off the covers and smile. [Source]
