Amazing dog Bo: shot, burned, left for dead, but doing fine
2/23/2013The tale of Wyoming farm dog Bo, pictured left above, is nothing short of miraculous. The blue-heeler cattle dog was shot while raiding a chicken coop, presumed dead, dragged into a barrel and set on fire. Not only did he not die, but Bo escaped and ran home in flames to owner Abby Redland. She rushed him to the vet with third degree burns over most of his body. That was three months ago, and now Bo is almost fully recovered. Redland has taken out a restraining order against the neighbors that shot him — though in Wyoming it’s legal to shoot dogs if they threaten livestock — but charges have not been filed. “If Bo does have nine lives,” said Redland, “he certainly used up at least a couple of them with this incident…He’s still the same sweet dog."
