Bodybuilder with cerebral palsy inspires us to try harder
6/7/2012Meet Stevie Zee, a man who has probably never said "I can't." Zee is a professional bodybuilder from Portland, Ore., who endures punishing workouts and an insanely strict diet to compete. Zee also has cerebral palsy, but he hasn't allowed his condition -- with symptoms that include difficulty moving and involuntary muscle spasms -- to keep him from his goal of showing off his pumped biceps and magazine-worthy physique onstage. Fifteen years ago, Zee started lifting weights because he "didn't know what to do with [himself.]" With the help of a personal trainer, Zee made the first of many appearances in bodybuilding competitions. "[My first show] was a personal achievement," he said. We're calling it an inspiration.
What would you tell Zee if you could?
