Woman who found diamond ring sues owner to get reward money
1/7/2013A St. Louis woman who found a 2-carat diamond in a tanning salon and failed to return it is now suing the ring's rightful owner for a reward. Bonnie Land told police she intended to return Melisa Boucek's $20,000 ring but simply forgot. She claimed to feel guilty about still having it weeks later when she noticed it again in her purse. After finally contacting a number for Boucek posted at the salon, Land agreed to return the ring, but was ultimately arrested on stealing charges for not reporting the item. She's now suing Boucek for more than $66,000 claiming breach of contract and fraud. Boucek had originally offered $3,000 as a reward for the ring. [Source]
