Massachusetts town's new law makes bottled water illegal
1/3/2013If you're a bottled water enthusiast, be careful not to break out that plastic water container in the town of Concord, Mass. A law has gone into effect in the colonial town making serving single-serving bottles of water illegal. The ban is the brainchild of 84-year-old activist Jean Hill, who says that the bottles create plastic pollution when they end up in landfills and costs consumers money by making them think they need to pay a higher price for something they can just get from their tap at home. First time lawbreakers proffering plastic bottle full of H2O will get a warning, but those selling bottles a second time will get a $25 fine that goes up to $50 if they just can't stop themselves.
