Boy barters toy for a Disney vacation — and then donates it
5/30/2012This nine-year-old has just made his parents exceptionally proud. Inspired by "One Red Paperclip," Kyle MacDonald's story of trading his way from a paperclip to a house, Brendan Haas of Kingston, Mass., bartered a toy soldier for, ultimately, a trip to Disney World for the family of a fallen solder. The trip includes air fare, a hotel stay and $900 in Disney gift certificates. Intermediate trades involved Red Sox tickets and a spa getaway.The trip went to the wife and two-year-old daughter of Lt. Timothy Steele, who was killed in Afghanistan in August.
