California reps come close to duking it out during debate
10/12/2012Political debates can get a bit nasty this close to Election Day, but candidates don't have to get physical. One debate between two Democratic congressional rivals contesting a redrawn California district certainly got a little too heated on Thursday. Representatives Brad Sherman and Howard Berman were arguing about a federal immigration bill when Sherman suddenly threw his arm around his opponent and asked, "Do you want to get into this?" The crowd cheered as a police officer stepped in to split the pair, but the Berman campaign quickly seized the moment and released the footage. "Brad regrets his role in the process," says Sherman campaign consultant Parke Skelton. [Source]
