Football player kicked off team for calling Obama the N-word
12/18/2012Bradley Patterson, we hardly knew ye — but what we learned about ye was terrible. Patterson, "an uninvited walk-on long snapper," was kicked off the University of North Alabama football team for the awful tweet he posted as President Obama spoke to the nation Sunday night about the Sandy Hook shootings. "Take that n***** off the tv, we wanna watch football!" he wrote. Mark Linder, the director of athletics at the school, swiftly responded. "Thx 2 everyone who brought the inappropriate tweet to our attention," he posted. "@UNAAthletics does not condone. He is no longer a member of the team." Patterson's Twitter account — and presumably his football career — have both been deleted. [Source]
