6 steps to turn passion for smoking weed into artsy profits

8/22/2012

Brazilian artist Fernando de la Rocque is by no means the first artist to take inspiration from illicit, mind-altering substances. But he might be the first to actually use the by-product of getting high as an art material. The enterprising 32-year-old exhales marijuana smoke onto paper to create stencil prints colored by the tar-laden goodness. He stumbled upon the technique a few years ago and says it takes him a week of puffing out five jazz cigarettes a day to make a new print. The form is clearly resin-ating with art lovers, with some paying up to $2,500 to take a piece home. In Brazil, that’s enough for around 20 pounds of "art supplies, your honor, I swear." [Source]
