Soup kitchen head lashes out at Ryan's campaign stunt

10/15/2012

Not only was vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan photographed washing some perfectly clean dishes, now the man who runs the homeless shelter in Ohio where the photo-op took place has slammed the Romney campaign for the stunt. Brian J. Antal, president of the Mahoning County St. Vincent De Paul Society, said he hadn't been contacted about Ryan's visit and claimed Ryan's staffers "ramrodded their way" into the kitchen to get the photo. He said the campaign "showed up there, and they did not have permission. They got one of the volunteers to open up the doors." Antal added that the Society does not endorse political candidates because it is a faith-based organization that relies on donations from private individuals. [Source]
