Huge landslide into water narrowly misses camera crew
7/16/2012The video shows water, a boat and someone on the shore. A rumble builds, the sound of wood cracking. A figure clambers into the boat as it pulls away. Landslide! Earth rushes toward water, snapping and tipping giant spruces in its path like popsicle sticks. The video footage of the British Columbia mudslide was captured Friday by a Global News crew covering the devastation from a landslide that had swept the same area the day before, leaving one person dead and three others presumed dead. "Five minutes ago we were there," reporter Francis Silvaggio breathlessly tells the camera. "We would've been wiped out. Five minutes ago." Whoa. [Source]
