See the ladies of 'Absolutely Fabulous' win 'torch race' gold

No 2012 Olympic torchbearers have done it with quite the same style as "Absolutely Fabulous" stars Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders, who completed the dash (and its Champagne-centric conclusion) more or less in character as eternal fashion victims Patsy and Edina. Wearing "Alexander McQueen" Union Jack-booties, Edina informed viewers that the pair had just completed the little-known "torch race" event. ("Gold for me," says Patsy). As a treat, their interviewer passed the bubbly, which Edina declared they deserved given their physical exertion before mentioning how she prefers past Olympics protocol, when athletes completed the games in a state of delirious dehydration: "I think what's ruined sport for me is that everyone's so hydrated—in the old days when people used to wobble a bit, people used to watch that."
