Catchy kids' song goes to a dark place in hilarious viral video

Hey kids – you're never too young to learn about cynicism! "The Counting Song" starts off with "one, two bits of cake" and dollies and fluffy cats, all set to an insanely jolly melody that could make Barney the Dinosaur start chugging Jim Beam. But "30 years later," we swap bright colors and adorable animals for lyrics about "problems, problems, PROBLEMS PROBLEMS!" Sigh. So true.

We can thank British comic Adam Buxton's twisted brain for ensuring this song will stay lodged in our head for the rest of the day. Bitterness and despair have never sounded catchier.
