Brooke Shields' mom dies, is fondly remembered by daughter

Brooke Shields' mom, Teri, who masterminded her young daughter's rise to stardom and was criticized for allowing her to play a prostitute in "Pretty Baby" at 12 and suggestively say "nothing" came between her and her Calvins at 15, died on Oct. 31 at 79. The elder Shields, known as the ultimate stage mom, the Dina Lohan of her day, suffered from dementia and hadn't played a role in her daughter's career since the mid-'90s. The actress remembered her mother fondly, saying she was an "enormous part of my life and of who I am today." She added, "I loved her, laughed with her and respected her.
