Bruce Willis donates expendable ski resort to community group
10/11/2012Celebrities handing over mountains of cash to charity is nothing new, but this could be the first time anyone's donated an actual mountain. In a deal that has been in the pipeline since April, Bruce Willis has handed over the keys to his Idaho ski resort to a non-profit group. Willis and ex-wife Demi Moore bought Soldier Mountain in Fairfield, Idaho, in the late 1990s. Functioning as a ski resort since 1948, Soldier Mountain boasts 1,150 skiable acres, and is now in the hands of a community group formed especially to manage the mountain. "I couldn't be more pleased," Willis said of the donation. "I wish them the very best." We're guessing he won't have to pay for lift tickets. [Source]
