Brussels Christmas tree replaced with a pile of boxes

Brussels traditionally puts up a 65-foot pine tree in front of the Grand Place every year for Christmas. But this year, the Belgian capital decided to get all new age and conceptual by installing a minimalist boxy sculpture-light installation that visitors can climb. Needless to say, thousands are absolutely furious about it, with 11,000 signatures on a petition against the non-tree. Critics point out that it clashes with the super quaint winter markets the city is known for and looks a lot like the green cross outside a pot dispensary (earning it the nickname "The Pharmacy").
