Red Sox prospect shoots himself in the leg with a shotgun
2/10/2013Talk about a misfire. Bryce Brentz, a 24-year-old outfielder, was going to start Spring Training with the Red Sox soon, but a shotgun accident that happened in early January means he won't start the 2013 season on time. Brentz (pictured at center in the photo above) reportedly shot his leg while cleaning his shotgun. Ben Cherington, general manager of the Red Sox, confirmed the news Saturday. Despite the late start, Cherington described Brentz as "lucky" and said the injury is "nothing serious." [Source]
