World record for bubble wrap popping tumbles in New Jersey
1/29/2013Teenagers in New Jersey have set a Guinness World Record for the most people popping bubble wrap simultaneously. Hawthorne High School assembled 336 students to fill their gymnasium with a cacophony of tiny pops, bursting more than 8,000 square feet of the stuff in just two minutes. The event celebrated the 13th annual Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day, and was held to raise money for the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Hawthorne High should send a framed picture of the event to Guinness World Record Book staff — packed in bubble wrap.
