Honest bus driver finds $503K, turns it in, offers hope for humanity
12/7/2012Who says there are no honest people in the world? An Austrian bus driver stumbled on a bag full of cash containing 309,000 euros (or about $503,000) while doing a last-minute check for items left behind. Did he head to a tropical island with his windfall to sip fruity drinks under a beach umbrella? He didn't — he turned it in. Police tracked down the cash's rightful owner, an elderly woman who'd withdrawn her life savings from the bank and forgotten it on the bus. Good deeds are their own reward, but here's hoping the lady gave the driver a few grateful bucks — at least enough to buy that fruity drink and beach umbrella. [Source]
