Driver refuses to board 'Some people are gay. Get over it!' bus
11/16/2012If this “Some people are gay. Get over it!” advertisement on the side of a British bus by the gay rights group Stonewall was intended as a conversation starter, it has succeeded. Debate is raging after a driver refused to board a bus bedecked with this message, citing his Christian beliefs. Irate passengers waited 20 minutes while the disgusted driver quibbled with other drivers. Meanwhile folks on Twitter got into a heated debate with comments like @susannefraser’s “Homophobic busdriver! Boo!!!” coming head to head with @PrimlyStable’s “"It won't be long until 'equal rights' campaigners insist on putting pro-gay propaganda on the side of school buses.” Eventually, the driver drove off behind the wheel of a less politically motivated bus, but the debate continues.
