Posey's grand slam completes Giants' improbable comeback
10/11/2012Baseball's drama runneth over Thursday with four playoff series that could potentially be decided, but it's going to be hard to top what the San Francisco Giants pulled off. Down 0-2 in their series with the Reds after stumbling at home, the Giants swept all three games in Cincinnati, capped by a 6-4 victory in Game 5 on the strength of catcher Buster Posey's mammoth grand slam home run. It's as if the Reds knew what was coming down: They haven't won a home playoff game in 17 years, and catcher Ryan Hanigan turned away as soon as Posey's blast took flight. Next opponent up for the Giants: the Nationals-Cardinals winner in the National League Championship Series.
