Bulldog summit shows mascots are much better behaved than fans

2/8/2013

Though the most common of mascots, there's always room for another bulldog in sports if only because it increases the chances of a live animal instead of a human in an outsized costume. And better than one bulldog is four, as when Butler's Blue II and Trip hit Washington, D.C., and visited new pals Jack and JJ at Georgetown University. The portrait in the Philodemic Room was the hit of the Internet, and only in part because you could see the human handlers hiding behind the chairs. Doggie bags were given to the Indiana guests, and Jack's Facebook page reported that issues discussed included "avoiding the pup-arazzi." So let's have more Bulldogs and fewer Blue Devils, OK?
