By 2013, you might not even have to lace your own shoes
5/11/2012The world of research and development seems finally to be catching on to the hard fact that each and every one of us simply wants to be Marty McFly. To that end, science geek and super-inventor Blake Bevin has created a working prototype of self-lacing shoes, akin to the Nike Air 2015 Kicks worn by Michael J. Fox in the classic 1985-1990 film franchise, Back to the Future. The plucky Bevin has moved her operations to Melbourne, Australia, to develop the product further and aims to have them in stores next year, at under $200 a pair. More than just fashion, she's hoping they could serve a purpose for people with disabilities.
