12-year-old found guilty of murder after shooting neo-Nazi father

A 12-year-old boy has been found guilty of murder after killing his neo-Nazi father when he was 10. Jeff Hall had abused and threatened his son for years before the unnamed boy shot and killed him at point-blank range. The boy told police that he had been inspired by an episode of "Criminal Minds" in which a boy shot his own awful dad but wasn't arrested. "[The boy] was abused … from the womb forward, and this had to affect his thought process," Judge Jean P. Leonard said, but she also acknowledged that he "had the mental capacity" to know that killing was wrong. The court hasn't decided where the boy will serve his sentence. [Source]
