Camera catches rare photo of elusive Canadian lynx
4/13/2012A hidden camera was able to do something recently that wildlife officials rarely -- if ever -- can: catch a glimpse of the elusive Canadian lynx. A motion-sensitive camera snapped the snow-roving creature walking on a wildlife overpass across the Trans-Canada Highway in Banff National Park. The image of the 30-pound, bearded cat was emailed to Parks Canada biologist and road ecologist Trevor Kinley this week with the subject heading, "A Little Morning Surprise," and has been rapidly circulating the web ever since, igniting excitement among wildlife enthusiasts and big cat lovers. Kinley said, "I've only had a glimpse of one in the wild, so to capture such a clear image is a rare treat."
