Canada plans to make glow-in-the-dark dinosaur quarters
4/13/2012Coin collectors worldwide, prepare to be super-jealous of Canada. The Royal Canadian Mint is set to strike a small series of commemorative quarters that not only feature a portrait of a dinosaur, but are painted with luminescent paint so the bones of the dinosaur glow in the dark. (The other side will show Queen Elizabeth II, but she doesn't glow in the dark). Glow-in-the-dark coins are maybe the best idea we've heard in years. No more dropping coins in the street , and you can find them more easily in your purse or after they roll underneath the shadow of a counter. These commemorative coins aren't for general circulation, but still: Take this genius idea and run with it, currency designers!
