Boy with rare illness achieves dream of 100K 'thumbs up' on Facebook
9/22/2012Lane Goodwin, 13, of Beech Grove, Ky., has alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, an extremely rare childhood cancer. Along with a miracle, he’s been praying for 100,000 thumbs up on his Prayers for Lane Goodwin Facebook page — and on Friday it happened! His aunt told TheGleaner.com that since his diagnosis Lane has “never complained, he's always smiling and in all of the pictures he's giving a 'thumbs-up' sign.” That’s how the Thumbs-up For Lane campaign, featuring photos like the ones in the above gallery, began. Thumbs-up photos and prayers are still streaming in. This week, Lane moved to a hospice near his home, but he’s continuing his fight, supported by his loving family and the virtual support of more than 100,000 Facebook well-wishers. [Source]
