Disgraced mayor trades politics for pecs with new bodybuilding career
1/25/2013Apparently, when a politician gets kicked out of office, that frees up plenty of time for new hobbies, such as hitting the gym. Because the last time former Miami-Dade (Fla.) County mayor Carlos Alvarez was in the spotlight, he had to wear a lot less self-tanner and a lot more clothing. Alvarez, booted out of office in America's largest-ever recall vote, showed up onstage at the National Physique Committee’s South Florida “Over 60s," bodybuilding competition, clad only in a black Speedo and an unnatural orange glow. Alvarez took first place in the contest, but, unlike the last time he won something, a group of super angry South Floridians can't yank it away from him. [Source]
