Coming to a highway in California: Carmageddon II!

Don't be surprised if your California relatives come to visit you on Friday. Golden State residents are being advised to avoid the mother of all traffic jams that could potentially extend halfway from Los Angeles to … well, we don’t know where. It's Carmageddon, the sequel (there was a similar shutdown in 2011). Drivers have been deluged for the last month with warnings of doomsday scenarios when a 10-mile stretch of Interstate 405 closes this weekend. There were so many warnings for the first Carmageddon that hardly anyone bothered to drive on that road, and transportation officials are hoping for a similar outcome this time.
