No joke, Carol Burnett's getting sued by a dead guy
11/22/2012In a situation tailor-made for one of her own skits, Carol Burnett is getting sued by a dead guy. Bob Banner, who helped create “The Carol Burnett Show” back in 1967, wants in on a home video deal she’s struck with Time Warner. OK, he hasn’t really risen from the grave demanding cash, but his company has come out of the woodwork claiming it’s entitled to moolah and demanding a breakdown of the show’s profits. Banner worked with Burnett until 1972, although the show stayed in production until 1978, scooping up 25 primetime Emmy Awards over its lifetime. A lawsuit’s no laughing matter, but we trust Carol to see the humor in this one. [Source]
